Luoghi d'interesse e siti storiciFort Monroe was completed in 1834, and is named in honor of U.S. President James Monroe. Completely surrounded by a moat, the six-sided stone fort was an active Army post until 2011. The fort was redesignated as Fort Monroe National Monument in 2011.
