 Lanesboro Arts presents, Slapdash Bluegrass, at the St. Mane Theatre at 7 pm on Saturday, October 10th! This special concert features opener Mike Munson starting at 6:15 pm! Tickets are on sale now for $25 General Admission, $22 Lanesboro Arts Members. Slapdash Bluegrass is an old time, country, and bluegrass band based between Northfield, MN, Chicago, IL, and Decorah, IA. Centering a love of folk traditions, delicate vocal harmony, and instrumental prowess, a Slapdash show is a celebration of community. The band expands and contracts based on its environment, from an intimate guitar and banjo duo to a 5-piece party-starting circus. From festival stages to dive bars to fellowship halls, Slapdash Bluegrass draws a crowd with foot-stomping, finger-blazing barn burners, and keeps a crowd with nuanced writing and charm. Slapdash Bluegrass has had the honor of playing festivals such as Boats and Bluegrass, Larryfest, and Turkey River Cabin Concerts, among others. In 2025, the group released their self-titled debut EP. Mike Munson is a renowned guitarist with an unmistakable sound. His prolific catalogue of original songs blends elements of indie folk, roots, jazz and improvised music. He has warmed the stage for legends like Mavis Staples, traveled the country with Grammy nominee Jimmy “Duck” Holmes and been invited to perform at multiple international festivals. Munson’s long career as a solo touring musician has garnered a devoted fan base and a reputable place within the bustling Minnesota music scene. Munson’s song-writing leaves much to interpretation while his voicing on the guitar is distinctly recognizable after decades of pursuit of the perfect tone. He has been mentioned in reputable publications including Smithsonian, Guitar Player and No Depression. His recordings are in regular rotation at both urban and rural radio stations throughout the region. He has also been invited to appear at the Vancouver Folk Music Festival, the Montreal International Jazz Festival, and the Waterfront Blues Festival, proving that he belongs in multiple genres at an elite level. This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund. Please note: The St. Mane Theatre box office will open at 6:00 p.m. the day of the event. Tickets will also be sold in person beginning at that time. Each ticket purchased with a bank card will be charged an additional processing fee of $0.99. Patrons can avoid this processing fee by paying via cash or check in the Lanesboro Arts Gallery, or before the event in the St. Mane Theatre lobby. Tickets are also sold in person during business hours at Lanesboro Arts Gallery. We will have a list of the ticket buyer names at the box office beginning at 6:30 p.m. If the buyer and their guests arrive together, no physical receipt or proof of purchase is needed to be admitted to the event–we will have a list! Alternatively, attendees can present a printed copy of the ticket PDF that was e-mailed to the ticket buyer or present it on a smart device.
