Jazz has always been vampire music, and these two musical genres rely on solid structures to find their freedom. The encounter between trumpeter-alchemist Erik Truffaz and flamenco saxophonist and singer Antonio Lizana is thus evident and sealed in a fantastic reinterpretation of Sketches of Spain, mythical album by Miles Davis released in 1960. The Swiss musician has often been compared to the American jazzman for his sensitivity, his phrase and the economy of notes (like his eldest, he plays only the most beautiful). With New Sketches of Spain, the tandem emancipates yet by going to search the Spanish roots of the album. On stage, the magnetic presence of dancer Ana Pérez sublimates the power of the septet led by the two companions.
