The Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus makes its first appearance this season with a long-awaited performance of Handel's classic oratorio, Messiah. They join Manchester Camerata, a cast of star soloists and Laurence Cummings, a conductor that "matches Handel's energy and invention with unmistakable lyricism, generosity and dignity" (The Guardian). Handel's much-loved work has become a treasured part of the festive season for audiences of all ages. From the uplifting choruses to the tender arias, it tells a universal story of hope, reflection and elation through music that speaks directly to your heart. Whether this is a cherished annual tradition or your first time hearing the work live, this performance offers a chance to experience one of the most enduring and stirring masterpieces ever written. Babies in arms (ages 0-2) are not admitted into the auditorium. All persons aged 14 and under must have a valid ticket and be accompanied by an adult over 18. A max of 8 tickets per person and per household applies. Tickets in excess of 8 will be cancelled. For customers buying stalls tickets, please note that Stalls seating is not tiered and customers may stand during the performance. Standing will NOT be permitted in the Circle or Balcony, due to Health & Safety reasons. Patrons who therefore do not wish to stand during seated concerts need to book tickets in this area.
