About
Post-renovation, Onaka is now Onakaya, in a nod to Japan's izakayas – casual dining spots where simple food is made to be shared. At this Nice establishment tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac (accessed via rue de la Liberté), the service vegetable tempura, salmon lightly seen with yuzu-miso, maki and sushi, as well as playful twists on local cultural tradition: prawn socca tacos and inventive takes on dragon rolls. Chic decor, an in-house cocktail bar and a fine sake selection. Upstairs, Onakasé offers an intimate dining experience with a 12-seat counter and a high-end gathering menu. Booking essential.
