It all began with the Cabbanna rotisserie, opened by grandfather Carmelo in 1971 and still going strong today, on his return from a time off living in Venezuela. Fifty years later, his grandchildren are running a restaurant right opposite, in the central area of lower Modica, in a charming establishment with tasteful, welcoming interiors and several outdoor tables used in the summer. The menu is based on the island's ingredients and recipes, but also includes exotic influences — such as ceviche, local knownly as "Ciauru ri mari" — reinterpreted with a contemporary twist. This results in colourful, beautifully presented dishes, excellent ingredients and delicate, attentive service provided by a female team.
