This 1759 Georgian house was used by George Washington as his residence during the 1775–76 Siege of Boston. In the 19th century it was purchased for poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow (1807–1882) by his father-in-law, and is where Longfellow wrote many of his best-known works.[102] Photo: Daderot at en.wikipedia, CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Longfellow_National_Historic_Site,_Cambridge,_Massachusetts.JPG)
