This 18th-century farmhouse was the home of author Herman Melville (1819–1891) during his most productive years from 1850 to 1863. He wrote several novels here, including Moby-Dick, as well as short stories, magazine stories and poetry. The house is now a museum.[10] Photo: Daderot., CC BY-SA 3.0, via Wikimedia Commons (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Arrowhead_(Herman_Melville),_Pittsfield,_Massachusetts.JPG)
