Formed in the late 1960s, at a pivotal period in the history of rock music, Uriah Heep quickly established himself as one of the most emblematic British bands of progressive rock and heavy metal. Along with Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, the band helped shape a powerful, melodic and resolutely British heavy metal. His sound signature was based on sophisticated vocal harmonies, which earned him the nickname "Beach Boys du heavy metal " , as well as the notable use of the Hammond organ and Mick Box's famous wah-wah guitar. Their first album, 'Very 'Eavy, Very 'Umble' (1970), now considered a founder of the genre, marks the beginning of an exceptional career. Their climax occurred in the early 1970s with cult albums such as 'Demons and Wizards', 'The Magician's Birthday' and 'Sweet Freedom', which met with immense international success and were particularly successful in the American Top 40. Over the decades, Uriah Heep has 25 studio albums, 21 live albums, sells nearly 40 million records around the world and performs more than 4000 concerts in 60 countries. Despite many changes in training, Mick Box being the only founding member still present, Uriah Heep has demonstrated remarkable longevity, without ever losing his energy or privileged connection with the public.
